If you are still not sure whether you should get vaccinated against COVID-19, please do so as soon as possible. The latest research findings show that it is much better to get the vaccine than to catch COVID-19.

The Brain and Behavior Foundation e-news offers a summary of multiple findings in the article Evidence Grows of COVID-19’s Complex, Two-Way Relation to Mental Health Disorders.

  • Individuals with mental disorders have a higher risk for COVID-19 infection and tended to have worse outcomes compared to those who do not have mental health issues.
  • People who contract COVID-19 are at a higher risk of developing mental health problems compared to those who do not get COVID-19.

Researchers from Toronto General Hospital recently published an article called Myocardial Injury Pattern at MRI in COVID-19 Vaccine–associated Myocarditis. It shows that myocarditis that happens after COVID-19 vaccination is very rare. It also tends to be less severe than myocarditis that happens after an actual COVID-19 infection. Therefore, people should not avoid COVID-19 vaccination for fear of myocarditis.
