Dr. Nikolai Gil Reyes Receives a Brain Canada Next Gen Award in Parkinson’s Disease Research

Congratulations to Dr. Nikolai Gil D. Reyes, who is one of the recipients of the 2025 Brain Canada Next Gen Award in Parkinson’s Disease Research. The award is part of Brain Canada’s Rising Stars Trainee Awards program, which supports a new generation of scholars pursuing impactful neuroscience-focused questions and driving tomorrow’s breakthroughs.   

Dr. Reyes is a movement disorders neurologist who is pursuing graduate studies at our Clinic. His work aims to investigate potential genetic factors that affect the risk of parkinsonism (including Parkinson’s disease) in individuals with 22q. This work promises to help those with 22q and other forms of movement disorders like Parkinson’s disease in the general population.
